Important notes
Thank you to all those who sent pencils. It is a HUGE help.
Reading logs:
Please make sure that you are checking the reading logs and signing daily. Getting in reading time is the single most important thing to helping your student be a better reader. Please include the title of the book, and push your child to read more and more difficult text. Ask questions to prompt them to better responses on their log. Take them deep with questions.
Also check red folders. I am sending home missing assignment notes when assignments are incomplete. NExt steps and suggestions will be on the sheet.
Grades:
Grades will be coming in more frequently now. Remember the assignments and quizzes I give right now are at grade level, in reading. So look at what is catching them off guard. Look at the sheets I return. But know that we are working towards mastery of a standard that is meant to be mastered by the end of the year. In math, Quick checks will be coming home 2-3 times a week. Those are minor grades, but let you and I know what your student needs to work on. I pull groups and adjust instruction based on performance on these checks. The students are progressing well.
